At Edifiers, based on the selection criteria, we do not differentiate between Slovak and foreign teachers as to what kind of courses they teach in terms of level or focus. We believe that all teachers should see teaching as a profession and always seek to improve and work towards the best professional results.

They can only achieve this by working on a variety of courses and with a variety of students of different levels and backgrounds.

We go to great pains to create work positions which enable us to build a team with high professional standards and workplace morale. We believe that this is the only way we can meet our commitments to our clients and their expectations.

The region of Bratislava is situated in the South-West of Slovakia and its southern part stretches along the Danube, following the Slovak-Hungarian border, while its western extreme traces the Morava River and simultaneously the Slovak-Austrian border. You can get to the city of Bratislava in 40 minutes from Vienna airport, or in 20 minutes from Bratislava airport to the city center.

As the capital city, Bratislava has one of the strongest and most dynamic local economies. The city’s GDP per capita (PPP) of 41,800 EUR is the fifth highest of all regions in the EU member states. Whilst Bratislava’s economy was once based around manufacturing and traditional industry, it has over the last decade transitioned to a hi-tech service-based economy, whilst keeping some of its original manufacturing firms.

Bratislava offers many working opportunities: the city is the economic hub of Slovakia, with many leading sectors, as well as international companies having their service center bases here like IBM, Amazon, Dell, Accenture, AT&T, Johnson Controls or Lenovo.

Bratislava is also an exceptionally smart city with a bourgeoning start-up eco-system and a stellar global reputation as an innovation hub.

Bratislava-based ESET is a world leader in anti-virus software while Pixel Federation, founded in the city in 2007, develops on-line games played in over 200 countries in the world.

Renowned as an automotive hub, Bratislava has also spawned Aeromobil, the makers of the world’s first flying car.

But Bratislava is also an innovator in the Meetings and Events industry. Sli.do, the ground-breaking audience engagement platform, was born and raised in this exceptionally smart city.

Global automotive leaders like Volkswagen (producing cars for Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, ŠKODA and SEAT, directly in Bratislava), Peugeot Citroën, KIA and Jaguar Land Rover have all opted to locate their massive plants around Bratislava.

Mixture of big international brands and vibrant start-up ecosystem attracts many foreigners that came to Bratislava in search of a job. Nowadays, the number of expat communities is impressive: Italians, Greeks, the Spanish, the French, the Portuguese and many more. If you are a foreigner and you come to Bratislava, you will already have a family that is waiting for you!

In addition, Bratislava is a perfect city for young people. It has a vibrant nightlife and a great pub culture. Moreover, the new generations of locals are really open-minded and are happy to make new friends among foreigners. It’s easy to get close to someone in Bratislava, a lot easier than in other European capitals!

In recent years, the city has become a real gem for coffee lovers. The “café culture” here is strong and it’s constantly growing. Whether you prefer a hipster café or a traditional cafeteria, the city offers many of them. The city has at least two big parks and a few lakes, where you can spend some time relaxing and having a BBQ or hop on a bus and in 20 minutes you’ll be swimming in the water!

The city offers a free wi-fi connection in many cafés, pubs and restaurants, making it easy to work remotely from any of these places. The trams are usually brand new and they connect all the parts of the city.

The chain of little towns and villages situated east of the mountain range are typical for vine growing. Food & wine festivals are common to this region: autumn is probably the best month to experience the local delicatessen, such as the roast duck and “burčiak”, a sweet, delicious must.

Eating out in local restaurants is still affordable. Basically, everyone can enjoy a hearty meal at the restaurant with friends for about 15 €. Whether you like halušky or pork ribs, you won’t be disappointed by the quality and quantity of the dish.

Its position in the heart of Europe makes travelling to Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland very easy, even for a weekend. A lot of foreigners usually travel to Prague or Budapest after a week of hard work. Vienna is also just around the corner! Its airport is well connected with many countries in the world. Last but not least, the countryside of Slovakia is wonderful and relatively close to Bratislava: one can drive or go by train for less than four hours and hike in the most beautiful mountains of the country, the High Tatras.
